Typography is an incredibly important part of graphic design. Learning the terminology and analysis of typefaces was explored in the process of creating a type specimen book for the Bodoni Typeface.

This specimen book aims to reflect the typographic manual from Bodoni’s original release with a modern and contemporary design. Originally inspired by Giambattista Bodoni’s Manuale Tipografico, the modern and minimal layout of this book creates emphasis on the characters, making the letterforms themselves the protagonists. The design intends to celebrate the elegance and perfection that Giambattista Bodoni is known for and develop a composition that directly reflects the elegant and timeless style of Bodoni.
